Women's Health Report 2010/2011 presented

Health Minister Alois Stoger presented the Women's Health Report 2010/2011. The report makes a contribution to increasing awareness of gender differences in health issues - that they exist, is evident.

Good health care needs, so take Stoeger, on gender differences regard. "The women's health report sharpens the view for the specific health situation of women. to give attention to these aspects clearly is the policy of this government, "said Stoeger. One of the main findings of the Department of Health commissioned the report is that social factors such as education major impact on women's health. The report also contains recommendations for policy which establishes the basis for future strategies in women's health policy.

It is "important to increase the sensitivity in this area through media reports and scholarly review of the topic," said the minister. The different health risks for women and men must be considered in treatment, prevention and diagnosis. The fact that women under 50 years had a doubled risk of developing a Heart attack than men to die, was just one of many examples that show the gender differences in health.
